Tunnel Rush drops you inside a glowing tube and asks one thing of you: don't touch the walls. The tunnel rolls toward you in a stream of coloured blocks, gaps and barriers, and the only thing you control is which way you slide. Nothing is explained and nothing waits for you, so you learn by hitting things.

The speed is the whole game. Early on the obstacles are sparse and you can breathe, but the tunnel keeps accelerating and the patterns get tighter, until you are reading the next three obstacles at once and steering on reflex. Rounds are short, usually under a minute or two, and a crash sends you straight back to the start, which is why it is easy to lose twenty minutes to it.

On Riddle School most pages are slow, think-it-through escape rooms and trick questions. This is the opposite: a pure reflex break between puzzles, with no reading and no inventory.

How to play

Steer with the left and right arrow keys or A and D. Up or Space jumps or accelerates, depending on the moment, and pressing a key after a crash restarts the run. On a phone you tap and swipe instead of using the keyboard.

Each run ends the moment you clip an obstacle, so the goal is simply to survive longer than last time. Because the screen is full of colour and the tunnel can appear to twist, your eyes matter more than your fingers.

Tips

• Look well ahead of where you are, toward the far end of the tunnel, not at the block in front of your nose. By the time it is close you have already run out of time to react.
• Use small, early taps rather than holding a direction. Holding left or right sends you across the tunnel and into the next obstacle.
• If the speed starts to feel like a blur, relax your grip on the keys. Tense, jerky steering is the most common reason for a crash in the later stretch.
• Play in a window big enough to see the whole tunnel; a cramped frame hides the obstacles that are about to arrive.
