Hearts unblocked: play Hearts online free right here in your browser — no download, no sign-up, works on a school Chromebook.
Hearts is one of the most enduring trick-taking card games ever designed, challenging four players in a battle of evasion and careful calculation. Unlike card games where taking tricks is the primary goal, Hearts flips the objective on its head: your main priority is avoiding penalty cards. Every single heart collected adds points to your tally, while the Queen of Spades delivers a stinging penalty that can completely upend your standing.
A typical match delivers steady tension across several hands as scores accumulate toward the end limit. Because you are playing against three opponents, every card you lead or discard reshapes the table. Whether you are carefully voiding a suit to discard your dangerous high cards or quietly attempting the legendary high-risk maneuver known as shooting the moon, Hearts requires patience, foresight, and sharp memory.
For visitors exploring Riddle School between escape adventures and puzzle rooms, Hearts provides a welcome change of pace with identical mental rewards. Solving point-and-click escapes demands logic, deduction, and pattern recognition—the exact same faculties you need to read an opponent's discards and protect your hand from unwanted tricks.
The game is played with a standard 52-card deck dealt evenly among four players. Controls are straightforward: simply click or tap the card in your hand you wish to play.
At the start of each hand, players select three cards to pass to an opponent according to the round rotation. The player holding the Two of Clubs leads the first trick. Play proceeds clockwise, and every player must follow the led suit if they hold a matching card. If you are void in the led suit, you can slough off any card from your hand, making it the perfect chance to ditch heavy hearts or the Queen of Spades.
The highest card of the suit led takes the trick and leads the next one. Crucially, hearts cannot be led until they have been broken by someone playing a heart on an earlier trick. The round ends when all thirteen tricks are resolved, and penalty points are tallied.
If you enjoy exercising your brain with strategic decisions, Riddle School features a variety of clever puzzles and tactical challenges. Each heart taken in a trick adds one penalty point, while the Queen of Spades adds thirteen penalty points. The player with the lowest score at the end of all rounds wins.
